Great Teachers’ BLOGs

OK, so I am going to try and post up any useful or interesting resources I find on the net which are concerned with teaching, or pedagogy if you’re posh.

These could be blogs which I have found (and I have found a few good ones) or useful software, or great teaching sites – there are a few really neat video teaching sites which I want to share.  Pretty much all the stuff I find is the product of someone else’s sweat and tears and I will always try and credit those involved where possible.  If I miss someone out then please let me know and I will correct.

So, to kick off I thought I would let you know about a few blogs I have found one way or another, which are created and run by teachers.

Tom Barrett

See my blog, see my blog, made from real peruvian frog...

Tom’s blog is one that I found quite early on.  It is packed with great information and links to really neat stuff likes guides, software and resources concerning teaching and the use of technology in the classroom.
His LinkedIn profile says:

Tom Barrett is one of the UK’s best classroom teachers, working in the elementary schools sector. He curates and shares thousands of practical ideas from teachers across the globe on his blog edte.ch, and puts into practice the very best thinking on educational technology to inspire and engage children in their learning.

He’s done a lot of teaching and his site really is worth looking at, if for nothing else except his links to the “Interesting Ways To…” series of presentations which he has created from ideas from many teachers, himself included.  For instance, one of the presentations is ’62 interesting ways to use an iPad in the classroom’.  It has loads of links to apps and plenty of neat ideas for using the iPad in your lessons.

That’s just one – there’s another good one about using search engines, another one about Prezi… there are loads of them, and they all fall under a Creative Commons licence, meaning you can freely copy and change them (as long as it isn’t for commercial gain).
